Set to arrive at dealerships in the latter half of 2024, the 2025 Sprinter lineup promises to redefine industry standards. The conventionally powered Sprinter will start at an MSRP of $50,830, while the groundbreaking new Benz Sprinter electric version begins at $61,180. Mercedes-Benz USA is clearly focused on delivering versatile and technologically advanced solutions for businesses seeking both efficiency and performance.
Enhanced Versatility: The New Benz eSprinter Tailored for Diverse Business Needs
The new Mercedes-Benz eSprinter is engineered with modularity at its core, mirroring the adaptability of its combustion engine counterpart. This design philosophy makes the new Benz Sprinter electric van an ideal solution for a wide spectrum of industries and applications. Businesses can now embrace CO2-emission-free transportation without compromising on range, body style versatility, or payload capacity.
Expanding beyond the initial 113 kWh battery, 170” wheelbase, and high roof configuration, North American customers can now specify their new Benz Sprinter with an 81-kWh battery. This strategic addition unlocks a range of wheelbase and roof height combinations, empowering businesses to precisely match vehicle configuration to their operational demands. Whether prioritizing maximum payload or extended range, the new eSprinter offers configurations to optimize total cost of ownership for diverse applications, from nimble inner-city deliveries to efficient regional transport.

For businesses prioritizing payload, the 144” wheelbase with a standard roof maximizes cargo capacity up to 319 cubic feet while achieving a substantial payload of up to 3,516 lbs. Alternatively, the longer 170” wheelbase paired with a high roof and the 81 kWh battery offers an impressive 488 cubic feet of cargo volume and a payload of up to 3,120 lbs. Notably, this configuration provides nearly 500 lbs. more payload capacity compared to the same setup with the 113 kWh battery. Importantly, all new Benz Sprinter electric variants maintain a permissible gross vehicle weight of up to 9,370 lbs.
Iain Forsyth, Director of Product Management and Marketing, Mercedes-Benz Vans USA, emphasizes the customer-centric approach: “Daily delivery vehicles generally follow a fixed predictable route that is usually under 150 miles – making the eSprinter the perfect solution for last-mile-deliveries. However, businesses have different needs when it comes to range, cargo volume and payload. It’s important to us to expand our product mix and provide options that tailor to their specific commercial purpose.”
Efficient Electric Powertrain and Flexible Charging Solutions for the New eSprinter
At the heart of the new Benz Sprinter electric van lies a highly efficient permanent magnet synchronous motor. Available in 100 kW or 150 kW peak power outputs, the motor delivers a robust torque of up to 295 ft.-lb. The 81 kWh battery provides a compelling electric range of up to 204 miles (329 kilometers) based on WLTP testing, making it exceptionally well-suited for urban last-mile delivery operations. For extended range requirements, the 113 kWh battery pushes the boundaries further, offering up to 297 miles (478 kilometers).
Both the 81 kWh and 113 kWh battery options for the new Benz Sprinter support versatile charging capabilities, compatible with both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) charging. DC fast charging at up to 115 kW can replenish the 81 kWh battery from 10 to 80 percent capacity in approximately 30 minutes, minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency.
Mercedes-Benz is committed to seamless charging access, providing eSprinter customers with access to the expansive Mercedes me Charge network. This service grants access to nearly 100,000 public charging points nationwide, simplifying on-the-go charging. Furthermore, the Mercedes-Benz Charging Network is rapidly expanding, aiming to establish a new benchmark for fast, reliable, and premium EV charging infrastructure, accessible to all EV brands, furthering EV adoption across North America. For convenient home charging, Mercedes-Benz offers the new Mercedes-Benz Wallbox, a smart and connected solution for overnight vehicle replenishment.

The New Mercedes-Benz Sprinter: Elevating Safety, Intelligence, and Driver Experience
For nearly three decades, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter has defined the light commercial vehicle segment. Synonymous with the large van class, the Sprinter remains the flagship of the Mercedes-Benz Vans portfolio, celebrated for its adaptability to diverse customer and industry-specific needs. The new 2025 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter upholds this legacy, delivering enhanced comfort and capability across various configurations – from cab chassis to cargo and passenger vans, with rear- or all-wheel drive, and a maximum gross vehicle weight of up to 12,125 lbs. All models now feature the smooth and responsive 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission, with all-wheel-drive available on select models.

The 2025 Sprinter generation marks a significant leap forward in safety, comfort, and digital integration, while retaining its renowned flexibility. The optional MBUX multimedia system elevates the driving experience with a 10.25-inch touchscreen display and a color instrument cluster. Both screens are intuitively controlled via touch-sensitive panels on the redesigned multi-function steering wheel. This advanced steering wheel incorporates capacitive sensors for hands-off detection, akin to smartphone technology. An optional smartphone storage compartment with wireless charging adds further convenience.
Next-Generation MBUX and Digital Enhancements for Seamless Connectivity
Both the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and new Benz Sprinter electric models benefit from the latest generation MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) multimedia system. The 10.25-inch display boasts enhanced processing power and refined menu navigation, delivering a truly interactive and digital experience. The intelligent voice assistant is now even more intuitive, capable of executing certain commands without requiring the “Hey Mercedes” activation phrase. Utilizing microphones integrated into the optional comfort overhead control panel, the voice assistant can pinpoint the command origin, discerning whether the driver or passenger requests seat heating activation, for instance. “Hey Mercedes” also provides comprehensive vehicle function explanations and assists with tasks such as Bluetooth® smartphone pairing. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration are now standard with MBUX, and over-the-air (OTA) updates enable seamless software upgrades and new feature installations.
A particularly practical MBUX feature is the rear space view, utilizing the rearview camera to project a hatched area on the central display, indicating the clearance required for opening the rear doors. This programmable distance feature enhances loading and unloading convenience, allowing drivers to assess available space without exiting the vehicle. The camera feed is also displayed when the rear doors are opened, providing continuous visibility.
The MBUX infotainment system, in conjunction with the Mercedes me connect app, unlocks a suite of digital services, enhancing the intelligence and efficiency of both the Sprinter and new Benz Sprinter electric. Complimentary services such as maintenance, accident, and breakdown management, alongside remote functionalities like door locking/unlocking, are easily managed via the Mercedes me connect app. New for this generation is satellite view and significantly improved navigation optimized for trailers and oversized vehicles.
For fleets with mixed-brand vehicles, Mercedes-Benz offers the flexibility to monitor all operations from a unified interface through authorized telematics providers. The new Benz Sprinter electric seamlessly integrates into the electric vehicle ecosystem with intelligent navigation featuring Electric Intelligence, proactive range management, and cloud-based services and apps. This ensures optimized route planning, charging strategy calculation, and pre-conditioning for relaxed and efficient journeys.
Enhanced Safety and Assistance Systems for Comprehensive Support
The new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and new Benz Sprinter electric models feature upgraded safety and assistance systems, many of which are now standard. Active Brake Assist now incorporates an intersection function, warning drivers of perpendicularly crossing or oncoming vehicles even at speeds up to 37 mph, and hazardous overtaking maneuvers up to 43 mph. Emergency braking intervention is available up to 25 mph, and turning assistance is provided to prevent collisions. Active Brake Assist also extends support at higher speeds.
The new Sideguard Assist, available with Blind Spot Assist, enhances awareness of other road users on the passenger side. If a vehicle or cyclist is detected in the blind spot, an LED light illuminates in the exterior mirror when the turn signal is activated, accompanied by an acoustic warning signal in the instrument cluster.
For the first time, Moving-off Information Assist is offered, mitigating collisions with pedestrians or cyclists in front of the vehicle when starting. The system detects road users within a 12-foot range in front and 19.6 inches beside the vehicle, providing visual and acoustic warnings in the instrument cluster up to 6 mph in the event of an imminent collision.
Active Lane Keeping Assist is enhanced with a new front camera, providing corrective steering intervention to prevent unintentional lane departures. The optional digital interior mirror offers a clear rear view even without a rear window or obstructed interior visibility. A roof-mounted HDR camera transmits a high-quality image to the rearview mirror, which automatically adjusts brightness based on ambient light conditions.
Specific to the new Benz Sprinter electric, optional features such as Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Traffic Sign Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, and a Parking Package with a 360-degree camera are now available, further enhancing functionality, safety, and efficiency for commercial applications.
Andreas Zygan, Head of Mercedes-Benz Vans Development, summarizes the advancements: “With its versatility, a new generation of infotainment systems and enhanced safety- and assistance systems, the Sprinter continues to be the perfect overall system solution for a wide range of commercial transport and mobility requirements. Meanwhile, the new eSprinter impresses with its efficiency, range and load volume. In doing so, it also underscores the Group’s claim to leadership in electric mobility in the commercially oriented segment.”
Upgraded Standard Equipment and Streamlined Option Packages
Mercedes-Benz USA has significantly enhanced the standard equipment for both the new Sprinter and new Benz Sprinter electric, refining equipment package logic to align more closely with customer preferences. Frequently combined features are now bundled into packages. The Winter Package PLUS (including heated front seats, heated steering wheel, and wet wiper system) and the Drive Assist Package (featuring various driver assistance systems and a 360-degree camera) are available for both models.
Standard equipment now includes a new multifunction steering wheel with capacitive sensors, tire pressure monitoring (front/rear) for dual rear wheel models, rain sensor, entry handles on front doors, and passive child detection in crew or passenger models. Sprinter passenger models offer a SELECT line option with a leather steering wheel, comfort driver’s seat, comfort overhead control unit, and LED high-performance headlights with Adaptive Highbeam Assist.
