Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater in Tuscaloosa Announces New Talent Booking Partnership

The city of Tuscaloosa is embarking on a new chapter for the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater, switching talent booking partners for the first time since the venue’s inauguration in 2011. This change marks a significant shift for the popular outdoor venue, originally known as the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater.

For over a decade, Birmingham-based Red Mountain Entertainment has been instrumental in bringing a diverse array of artists to the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater stage. They were the promoters who booked the inaugural show with the Avett Brothers and continued to curate the venue’s performances ever since. However, the Tuscaloosa City Council has decided to explore a new direction as Red Mountain Entertainment’s contract nears its expiration on December 31st.

“Red Mountain Entertainment has been a crucial partner in the establishment and development of the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater,” acknowledged Mayor Walt Maddox. He emphasized their contribution, stating, “Their commitment and hard work have created a solid base for future growth.”

This decision coincides with ongoing enhancements at the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater. The venue underwent a name change less than a year ago to recognize the impactful collaboration with Mercedes-Benz U.S. International. City officials are also considering a comprehensive 10-year plan for further modernization and upgrades to the amphitheater grounds, aiming to elevate the audience experience.

Looking ahead, the Tuscaloosa City Council has unanimously approved a new agreement with Danny Wimmer Presents Talent Services, LLC. This new partnership signals an exciting phase for the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater as it seeks to broaden its appeal and attract a fresh wave of talent.

“Over the past 13 years, the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater has become an integral part of our City’s identity and a driver for economic activity,” Mayor Maddox stated. “We are enthusiastic about partnering with Danny Wimmer Presents to build upon this legacy, aiming to introduce new performers and create memorable moments for our community.”
