Remembering Christine Ponthieux: A Memorial for Benz Model & Talent Agency’s Office Manager

The Tampa Police Department responded to a call at the agency’s offices on April 25th, where they found Ms. Ponthieux deceased in the private office of agency owner Steve Benz. The circumstances surrounding her death indicate a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Mr. Benz was not present at the agency when the incident occurred and did not attend the memorial service.

Held at the Wedding Retreat in Plant City, Florida, the celebration of life was described by attendees as a fitting tribute to Ms. Ponthieux. Her three daughters delivered heartfelt eulogies in a rustic setting, complete with country music and the sounds of horses. String lights illuminated a barn, creating a warm and intimate atmosphere for the approximately 50 guests, comprising close friends, family, agency staff, and actor-clients. Shared memories of Ms. Ponthieux filled the air, though questions regarding the circumstances of her passing were also present among those gathered.

Tampa authorities have stated that the investigation into Ms. Ponthieux’s death remains open but have indicated no signs of foul play.

A message posted on the Benz Model & Talent Agency website reflects the deep sense of loss felt by the organization: “Christine was a dedicated member of our team for nearly two decades and played a vital role in our agency’s achievements. Her absence will be profoundly felt, and we will forever cherish the memories we created together. We extend our deepest condolences to her loved ones. May she find peace.”

Christine Ponthieux’s dedication to Benz Model & Talent and the wider Tampa community will be remembered by all who knew her. She would have turned 51 this October.
