Benz Agency Tampa Community Remembers Christine Ponthieux at Memorial Service

Friends, family, and colleagues gathered to commemorate the life of Christine Ponthieux, the office manager of Benz Agency Tampa, following her recent passing. A memorial service held on Wednesday evening provided a space for those touched by Christine’s life to remember her and reflect on her impact, particularly within the Benz Agency Tampa community.

The service, a celebration of life, took place at The Wedding Retreat in Plant City, Florida, offering a rustic and poignant setting. Attendees described a beautiful tribute, resonating with Christine’s personality and passions. Country music filled the air, complemented by the gentle sounds of horses nearby, creating an atmosphere that those present felt perfectly honored her spirit. The barn venue, adorned with soft string lights, added a touch of warmth and intimacy to the gathering. One guest remarked on the fitting nature of the location, noting Christine’s “country girl” essence and the genuine love felt for her among the attendees. Christine, who would have turned 51 in October, was remembered fondly by approximately 50 close friends and family members. Among them were colleagues from Benz Agency Tampa and a number of the agency’s actor-clients, highlighting the diverse community she was a part of.

Conversations at the memorial service naturally revolved around cherished memories of Christine. Friends and family shared stories, celebrating her life and the role she played in their lives and within Benz Agency Tampa. However, amidst the remembrance, questions lingered regarding the circumstances of her death. Tampa Police Department confirmed Christine Ponthieux was found deceased at the Benz Agency Tampa offices on April 25th, having suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the private office of agency owner Steve Benz. The office door was locked from the inside, requiring police to gain entry. Steve Benz was not present at the time of the incident, nor did he attend the memorial service.

Tampa Police have stated that the investigation into Christine Ponthieux’s death remains open. Despite this, authorities have indicated no evidence suggesting foul play. Benz Agency Tampa released a statement on their website acknowledging Christine’s significant contribution to the agency. The message conveyed deep sorrow and recognized her nearly 20-year tenure, stating, “Christine worked for us for close to 20 years and will be greatly missed. She was an integral part of our success.” The agency further emphasized the void left by her absence, adding, “There are so many things we will miss about her and will cherish all of the memories. Our deepest condolences go out to her family and friends. May she rest in peace.” This public message from Benz Agency Tampa underscores the profound impact Christine had during her time with the company and the collective sense of loss felt by those associated with the agency.
