O’Hara’s automotive career began in 1977 as a part-time porter, while he was still in high school. This entry-level position was the starting point of a remarkable climb through sales and management roles. He honed crucial skills in customer relations and business management, skills that were instrumental in his success. Notably, he steered his own dealership to an impressive 2,000-unit sales year in 1999, a clear indicator of his business acumen and leadership capabilities which now benefit Mercedes-Benz of Hoffman Estates.
Joining Zeigler Auto Group in 2013, O’Hara quickly proved his leadership prowess. He was initially appointed as GM of BMW of Orland Park. His responsibilities expanded significantly in 2015 when Zeigler acquired MINI of Orland Park, Zeigler Nissan of Orland Park, and INFINITI of Orland Park. This led to his promotion to VP and GM of Operations in Orland Park, overseeing a large regional operation until December 2019. His successful track record across various brands within Zeigler made him a natural choice to lead Mercedes-Benz of Hoffman Estates.
Since January 2020, Bill O’Hara has been at the helm as VP and GM of Operations for Mercedes-Benz of Hoffman Estates, along with his responsibilities for INFINITI of Hoffman Estates, and Jaguar Land Rover Schaumburg.
