Mercedes-AMG is poised to challenge BMW’s M3 dominance with a high-performance coupe based on the upcoming C-Class. This AMG variant of the C-Class coupe, sharing its platform with the E-Class coupe but targeting a younger demographic, promises exhilarating performance and distinctive AMG styling.
Under the hood, the 2012 C63 AMG Coupe is expected to pack a potent, slightly detuned version of AMG’s new 5.5-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine. While turbocharging is the likely route, whispers of a naturally aspirated variant persist, and a turbocharged V-6 remains a possible alternative.
